How And Why You Need To Start Beating Yourself Up

How & Why You Need To Stop Beating Yourself Up For Your Past

February 6, 2020HOW &

Question: How do I stop hating myself for something I did in the past and cannot change?

My Response: You learn to let it go. Learn the lesson. Look at it as a lesson for your soul growth. If you sit there and woe in it that is not powerful.

Understand that thing that happened. You are a conscious being and that is why you have remorse. Now understand it deeply. Learn from that and make yourself untouchable.

Forgive yourself. That’s life. We’ve all done things we wish we could take back.

Spending the rest of your life in remorse of it is not powerful. You are not here to be sad and mopey. You are here to move on powerfully.

You are here to be your most awesome you. Tap in to life on a deeper level. Get in to nature. Listen to inspiring things.

Stop focusing on what does not serve you. Focus on things that will help you and empower you.

There is greatness inside of you. Focus on that. Let it go.

Be your most awesome you. Live your most awesome life now. You are so worthy to be all you can be and have your most awesome life. Stop wasting time living in the past.

Every moment you spend thinking about the past is a moment you deprive yourself of in the here and now.

It’s ok. You are only human. You’ve beaten yourself up for it enough. Now it’s time to move on.

Now is all you have. Yesterday is gone. Live powerfully in the now.

So as a part of a new series of posts I’ll be offering helpful information, insights and resources and sharing my responses to questions from people – ones that are most commonly asked and questions I think will be most helpful.

The answers you will find are my sincere from the heart responses to people needing guidance and inspiration. And while some of the answers might be brief I’m hopeful there will be a tidbit in there and some sort of takeaway.

I do this from the sincerity of my heart. It is my calling to assist and help others and that’s why God has put me on a path to do the work for that very reason. The more work I do the better I can assist. I believe my life and struggles were for this very reason to learn from and grow from. I was forced inward along the way so I could look deeper at all of the trauma and come out stronger and wiser. And now I share those insights I’ve gained over the last more than two decade journey of seeking my own answers to all of life’s complexities.

Too Much Energy | It’s Hard Sitting Still

Too Much Energy - It's Hard Sitting Still

How to deal with too much frenetic energy? Life is all about energy. And if there’s too much of it that is not being moved and directed in a positive way it can create a lot of stress and anxiety.

This is such a huge problem for so many. Not knowing what to do with the excess energy and not knowing how to slow down.

The original question –

Why am I flooded with so much energy that it is hard sitting still like when doing homework, I feel like doing things it’s giving me so much energy. How can I stay still with these emotions?

My response

Meditate. Learn to slow down. You are missing so much by racing around.

It’s ok. It’s not a race. It’s good to have a lot of energy, but you have to know how to use that energy powerfully so it most benefits you.

Otherwise you will just be racing around from place to place and thing to thing never fully in each moment.

Learn to sit in silence. Learn to be with all the racing thoughts. It’s ok. It’s human nature.

And the more you do this the more grounded you will feel. The more in sync with the universe you will feel.

You will be more in alignment with all that’s around you and better be able to use your energy constructively and powerfully.

You will also begin to see things with greater awareness. You will begin to live more in the present from moment to moment.

You will begin to show up more powerfully for others and for all of those things you want to do in life.

You’ll be more calm and more at peace and be able to direct your energy in a way that it best serves you.

2 Reasons To Give | The Gift Of Gratitude

2 Reasons To Give - The Gift Of Gratitude

2 REASONS TO GIVE – THE GIFT OF GRATITUDE

2 Reasons To Give – The Gift Of Gratitude

So while there are more than 2 essential reasons to give let’s just start with these because they might be the top two, the best and the only reasons you need to begin giving.

They say giving is a beautiful gift not only to those we give to, but to ourselves. This is what makes it so profound to give to others. And in giving I mean not just giving material things, but giving can also be doing.

Doing things for people in need is the most powerful way to light your soul on fire. Giving to those less fortunate, this is God’s work. This is the best kind of giving. It’s not something superficial or a material object that can be easily replaced.

This sort of giving comes from the heart.

This is where we begin to see our own sense of worth and greatness. We are generally very self-focused in life. Most people around us operate from a space of Me, Me, Me and Me is first all of the time.

This is why giving to others has such a profound impact on our souls.

STAYING MOTIVATED | 3 AFFIRMATIONS TO LIVE BY

Staying Motivated - 3 Affirmations To Live By

December 26, 2019STAYING MOTIVATED – 3 AFFIR

So one of the things I get asked the most, more than any other thing is how to not only get motivated, but stay motivated.

So there are practical ways to get yourself in gear. These are things that actually work. And yes you have to stick with it, do it and give it a few days, but honestly what’s a few days in the bigger scheme of things.

Time flies so please stick with me on this. I’m a Reiki Master. I know a thing or two about energy.

It’s all energy and that’s what it all boils down to you. You are a powerful creation and you are capable of so much. You have to learn to trust yourself and develop your intuition. Hone in on it. Download the LITE Guide for some help with that.

It comes by sitting with yourself and learning to go inward by way of application for the answers. That’s how you develop your intuition. It’s a muscle. And like anything you have to build it. The more you practice the better you become.

So getting started with motivation entails things like dreaming, a plan, an idea, a desire and passion.

And now here’s the big a-ha – those who go after what they want and get what they want really really want it.

So how bad do you want it? Ask yourself this. If you aren’t able to stick to your focused plan then you just don’t want it bad enough.

So that is the first step to getting motivated. There’s more to it and I have several breakdowns for you here and here.

And now I promise you again as I said earlier energy is everything. I work with energy and I attract and manifest things into my life with energy.

You and I are connecting right now not by chance, but by pre-ordination. It was already willed that you would come here, end up here and get something out of this. So if you’ve gotten this far I know and trust you trust me enough to put this into play.

I promise it works and I’m super excited you’re going to do this because you are going to begin to feel a shift. And the beauty of this is that the shift is pretty instantaneous. You don’t have to wait days and years to feel.

Feel me? Feel the vibe. Trust the process. Trust your own intuition and let the awesomeness flow into your life, into you and through you.

That’s how it works. We first allow it in. We tap into it, all of the awesome frequencies that begin with thought, the energy we manifest with thought. We materialize that into our circumference and the more we do this the more it blankets us. And the more we become this energy.

So we call upon it and call it to us. We sense it and we feel it near. And then we tap in and radiate it outwards. We enter flow. And we allow it to come to us. And then we allow it to flow through us and then out of us and we begin to externalize things around us. And we create the awesomeness we want to see in our life.

The Three Affirmation To Live By

  1. I Am Awesomeness
  2. I Create Awesomeness
  3. I’m Living My Most Awesome Life Now

My Top 7 Quotes To Live By

My Top 7 Quotes To Live By

So I live by what I preach. I grew up around meditators. My mom still meditates every single day for an hour.

And how lucky I am to have had this way of life presented to me early on is something I do not take for granted.

Living mindfully is the most powerful and beautiful way to live. We begin to have richer experience in this carnation because we bring greater awareness to each and every moment. We miss less and we are fuller, more whole for that.

We are not drifting in our heads, but are fully present for our loved ones. We begin to feel and sense in a way we had not because we arrive. We just arrive, all of us, fully, completely, alert and in total presence.

We begin to feel what others share because we give their sharing our total attention right down to our heart.

And they begin to feel our presence in a way that offers up so much glory in the surrender.

So my very own favorite quotes I’ve used throughout my life and have resonated for me are :

Live by these, feel them in the depths of your being and let them be your guide for your most awesome 2020 ahead.

“LOVE WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT.

— SKD

“ILLUMINATE THE LIGHT YOU WERE MEANT TO BE.

“GIVE IT EVERY LITTLE OUNCE OF WHAT YOU’VE GOT.

— SKD

“LIGHT UP THE WORLD. RADIATE.

“LOVE IS ALL THERE IS. WHAT ELSE IS THERE?

“THE MOST POWERFUL THING YOU CAN BE IS AWESOME.

— SKD

“BLOSSOM LIKE THE BUTTERFLY. BLOOM FROM WITHIN.

“DON’T HALF ASS. SHINE ALL YOUR LIGHT.

— SKD

“BE YOUR MOST AWESOME YOU. IT’S WHY YOU’RE HERE.

— SKD

Love & Light,

SKD

2020 | Game On!

2020. Game On.

So I would say I’m a pretty productive person and I’m sharing this here with you so you can get your ultimate 2020 Game Plan Game On. Check my list for the 5 musts of what it takes to make it happen day in and day out – below.

So I cannot believe we’ve put another decade behind us and we are gearing up for 2020. There’s something so awesome about the new decade and while we may not be able to put our finger on it, it just feels nostalgic.

There’s excitement and anticipation for what’s ahead.

We know that it’s going to be different. There’s a sense of completion with the previous decade and an overwhelming sense of newness with 2020.

2020. Game On for me looks like this. In order to crank out all that I do and be on top of my A game it requires a lot of passion and discipline. This is the number one thing. It’s commitment to discipline.

So day in and day out we’ve got to stick with it. We’ve got to give it every little bit of what we have and we have to understand balance. We can work hard and give it our all, but then there has to be a balance in life where you break and do some awesome things for your soul. That’s how we replenish and rejuvenate for tomorrow.

Otherwise we will surely burnout.

So for me – here’s what this looks like – I promise you I’ve been doing this for decades and those who achieve success have a daily routine they stick to. I’ve tried doing it without a routine, but it’s not the same thing and the results are just not there when you don’t get after it day in and day out with a dedicated routine to your committed discipline.

Here’s what that looks like –

Wake up – make coffee – read – eat some fruit – vitamins – turmeric – matcha – green tea – Literally I do all of these things every single morning.

Pause – Stretch – crunches for 10 minutes – planks – sit ups – stretch – Reiki if I can for 15 minutes if not I do this in the early evening.

Write – for 30 minutes to 1 hour

Work – client calls – emails – creating content – interviews – stories – following up on everything in the pipeline

Break – Walk – stretch – meditate for 10 minutes – Break means break and the most powerful way to break is to turn off all the external stimuli. Take 0 calls – turn off the ringer -set your alarm clock and totally and completely break – eat light if possible – salad or soup – something that is not going to make you want to take a nap.

Work – my afternoons are generally the most productive time of day for me where I get everything that is on the calendar done and look ahead to tomorrow and the week. I always have a to do list so there is a greater sense of accomplishment as I check things off.

Late afternoon -early evening entails – exercise – a walk, a run in nature if possible (I’m lucky enough to live near some of the most exceptional hiking and trails imaginable, a writer and hippie’s paradise I’d say) Qi Gong and Reiki if I didn’t squeeze it into my morning. Yoga at home.

And while my schedule may seem far fetched it’s actually not. It’s very doable when you have a daily routine. It all gets done.

And some of this is in 10 and 15 minute increments and being able to make that concerted effort to ensure I meditate and do Reiki every day adds hours to my day.

So here’s what you need to do to get your 2020 Game On – On.

  1. Make a list of everything you want to do – sit with this. Think about everything you plan on getting done in 2020. Make it reasonable. Don’t over do it, but dream, be ambitious, have some goals that excite you even if they seem a little far fetched – go for it. And while you may not get to the end of it in 2020 if you get it going and start sticking with it you will see the progress you’ve made and that will give you leverage and a great sense of momentum to keep going until you achieve that awesome dream or goal. Having goals and being passionate are what will set your life and your soul on fire.
  2. Get a schedule goingA Routine – now come up with an actual schedule. Don’t be over ambitious, but figure out how you’re going to plug the little awesome extras that are power boosters for your soul into your day. It’s the little things that are the game changers. How are you going to make sure you take 10 minutes to just sit and meditate every day?
  3. Get a planner this year and use it! Make a list of your to do’s for the next day – this is the best way to go about getting after your goals and feeling great about getting shit done. This is a priority and must do. Lay it out ands you will have something substantive and definitive. You will have your plan.
  4. Map it out – get a timeline going. Be reasonable with this because when we don’t make the mark we fall off the wagon all together. So take your time with all of these steps and figure out what is doable and it what span of time. Set dates, times, a definitive idea of when you anticipate to be done with that goal. And while you want to be reasonable with the expectations you set for yourself – pushing yourself a little is also a good way to get yourself in gear and get after it.
  5. Believe – So while this falls at the bottom of the list it has nothing to do with importance or significance. Being a dreamer is the first step to become a doer. And imagining, dreaming, and believing in yourself are all a part of that bigger piece of the puzzle. You must sense and feel deeply your own worthiness and capabilities. You know your worth and you know what you’re capable of. And it’s the dreams and goals, our ambitions and desires that can set our life on fire. This is what fuels and gives us passion and the courage and strength to forge. So warrior up. Let’s do this. 2020. Game on.

So as a little bonus because I really want you to crush it in 2020 I want you to know the number one way to get truly focused and clear with things is through sitting in silence.

It’s the best way to learn to be in the moment and in total presence with what it happening. It is also the most exceptional way to learn acceptance and become less reactive. The more you do this the more acceptance you have with your thoughts, things you can and cannot control.

By sitting and being with your thoughts and all that it is you learn calmness and acceptance. It’s a means of surrender. And it is the most powerful way to live.

To help get you started – download my free Bliss Guided Meditation. It’s ten minutes and will guide you on how to get started meditating.

Also another great way to get more clear and focused is by going inward and doing a self assessment. Have you ever asked yourself the deeper questions? You’ve always looked outward for the answers, but have you ever looked within. Well that’s where the answers are. Use my very own LITE Guide that I’ve created to help you get started with self-inquiry. It will walk you through the steps to learning to not only go inside of yourself to the answers to all of your questions, but to teach you to develop your intuition and become more trusting of your own natural intuitive instincts.

Giving Thanks | The Art Of Gratitude

Giving Thanks - The Art Of Gratitude

November 30, 2019GIVING THANKS – THE ART OF GRATITUDE

So It’s been a spiritual ritual for my soul to write about all I’m thankful for on this day for the past decade.

I honor Thanksgiving by giving all that I’m grateful for sincere thought and prose even.

And every year, despite the trials and tribulations I bring to this day or have dispelled in the months gone by, it seems I find myself ever more grateful.

Perhaps the passing of time and being a year older has something to do with it. I very much believe this to be a part of the deeper gratitude. You just don’t give things ample thought, especially something like gratitude a good go around in your head and heart space when you’re younger. Nothing like I do now in my fourties.

Also my years spent practicing mindfulness certainly help with the exercise.

I think practicing present awareness day in and day out allows me to act from a space of gratitude more so on even the most ordinary of days.

It’s not only on this day that I exercise giving thanks and see it as an opportunity to bring greater awareness to all I’m thankful for. However the ritualistic thanks gives way to more depth on the page.

As the year winds down I find myself thankful for so many things, little things that I don’t give daily thanks for.  And the little things I do give daily thanks for seem even more worthy of my gratitude.

I’m thankful for the hardships the year bestowed upon me as tools for my overall growth.
We never know the strength that resides deep down inside until it’s called upon us to know. Even I, after so much trauma am always surprised at my own will and resilience to get through anything life throws at me.

And with another year down and another year up on my ticker I’m thankful for my good health, although some things did surface that had to be investigated, researched, tested and verified.  Perhaps those things that surfaced were there as a gentle reminder of how much health and well being are taken for granted and deservedly need extra thanks.

I’m lucky the results of those tests had stellar options for treatment. So, yes feeling lucky and blessed most certainly again on this day of Thanksgiving.

And while the actual tradition of Thanksgiving had nothing to do with heart centered love expanding to those around us I use it in my way as powerfully as I can to offer up gratitude.

I give thanks for all of the people with whom I shared laughs and tears this year as it has been a topsy turvy year with no shortage of surprises even when mercury wasn’t retrograde.

The planetary alignments certainly played a hand in all of the unknown and unexpected deliverables of the year.

Nevertheless let there be no shortage of thanks. Thanks for wonderful human beings I’m lucky to call mine.

Thanks for the nourishment of tasty organic, fresh baked goods along with fried turkey this year, a first for the family, although I’m no stranger to the fried bird.

Carnivorous, yes, but what is Thanksgiving without the traditional bird, front and center?

Let this day be a day of rejoicing on the many treasures life offers up, big and small.

Let it be a coming together of minds, hearts and souls. And let spirit have His or Her way with us, ensuring splendor, warmth and a depth of joy that we should be ever so grateful for.
