The 5 Hottest Alternative Wellness Practices

Alternative wellness encompasses a wide range of healing modalities. While traditional medicine focuses on treating symptoms, alternative wellness goes a little deeper. It looks at the whole person and offers balance and harmony within the body, mind, and spirit. Some of the most common modalities in alternative wellness are acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage therapy, and meditation. By taking a holistic approach to health, alternative wellness methods can help you achieve optimum health and well-being.

WHY ALTERNATIVE WELLNESS MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU

When it comes to alternative wellness, there are a lot of different practices out from yoga to aromatherapy and acupuncture. There are many ways to promote good health and wellbeing. But what exactly is alternative wellness?

In general, alternative wellness refers to any kind of practice that falls outside of mainstream medicine. This can include both Eastern and Western approaches, as well as alternative therapies that are not yet supported by scientific research. While some people may use alternative wellness as a complement to conventional medicine, others choose it as a standalone practice. Ultimately, there is no wrong or right way to approach alternative wellness – it’s all about finding what works for you.

Often, alternative wellness practitioners take a holistic approach to health integrating the mind, body, and spirit to be interconnected. This approach recognizes that physical health cannot be separated from mental and emotional health. Alternative wellness offers tools and techniques for managing stress, improving sleep habits, and eating a balanced diet. And while alternative wellness is still gaining mainstream acceptance, its popularity is growing rapidly as more people seek out natural healing modalities.

Here are the top five we recommend you try if you are in need of healing.

#1 REIKI

Reiki is a Japanese term that means spiritually guided life force energy. No it’s not a massage and many times is described to be a form of light touch therapy, but Reiki can be administered with or without touch. It can even be sent remotely to someone across a body of water.

Reiki is a means of healing where the practitioner acts as a conduit with his or her angels or guides or the person in need of healing’s angels, guides, gurus working through the practitioner to direct loving energy.

While for many years Reiki was thought of as an airy fairy thing there is more and more evidence showing the enormous power of Reiki and energy.

Energy good or bad can be measured. It’s quantifiable as evidenced in the water experiment by Dr. Masaru Emoto. The experiment essentially had subjects directing positive and negative energy at two cups of water and the water began to form molecular patterns affirming energy could indeed be measured.

Studies like this one or this one are showing the quantifiable data and the facts about the power of Reiki.

#2 CRYSTAL THERAPY –

Crystal therapy is an alternative wellness treatment that uses crystals or gemstones to promote healing. The idea is that each type of crystal has its own unique energy that can be used to encourage balance and harmony in the body. Proponents of crystal therapy believe that the stones can help to unblock stagnant energy, promote relaxation, and boost feelings of well-being.

Crystals store energy and emanate frequencies based on the properties and different typed os crystals work in tandem with different ailments or stresses.

While there is no scientific evidence to support these claims, many people swear by the power of crystals. If you’re interested in trying crystal therapy, it’s important to select stones that resonate with you personally. This means taking into account both the physical and energetic properties of the crystals. Once you’ve selected a few stones, you can start incorporating them into your daily life in simple ways, such as carrying them in your pocket or placing them on your nightstand.

With a little time and effort, you may find that crystal therapy helps you to achieve a greater sense of balance and harmony in your life.

#3 LIGHT THERAPY

Light therapy is a type of alternative wellness that uses different colors of light to improve your mood or overall health. It’s sometimes called LED therapy, phototherapy, or chromotherapy. Light therapy is based on the idea that our bodies are attuned to the natural light-dark cycle of the day. When we’re exposed to certain colors of light, it can help to regulate our mood, energy levels, and sleep patterns.

A growing body of research suggests that light therapy may be helpful for treating conditions like seasonal affective disorder (SAD), insomnia, and depression. If you’re interested in trying light therapy, you can purchase a light therapy lamp here. You can also find apps that offer virtual reality experiences with different colors of light.

Before you start using light therapy, it’s important to speak with your healthcare provider to make sure it’s right for you. Light therapy is generally considered safe, but there are some potential side effects, such as headaches, eye strain, and dizziness. If you have any concerns about using light therapy, be sure to discuss them with your doctor.

#4 TUNING FORK THERAPY

If you’ve ever been to a musical performance, you’ve probably seen someone using a tuning fork. But what exactly are these mysterious objects, and what do they have to do with music?

A tuning fork is a type of percussion instrument that produces a sound of a specific pitch when struck. The pitch is determined by the length of the fork’s vibrations. When the fork is held close to an ear, the vibration can be heard as a tone.

Tuning forks are most commonly used in alternative wellness practices such as acupuncture and meditation. They are believed to promote relaxation and balance the body’s energy. Some people also use tuning forks as a form of sound therapy, believing that the vibrations can help to relieve pain and other symptoms.

Whether or not you believe in their healing powers, there’s no denying that tuning forks can produce some beautiful sounds. If you’re curious about this fascinating instrument, why not give it a try? Who knows, you might just find yourself feeling more tuned in and balanced than ever before.

#5 SOUND THERAPY

Sound therapy is an alternative wellness treatment that uses sound waves to promote relaxation and healing. The therapy can be performed using a variety of instruments, including singing bowls, gongs, and tuning forks. Studies have shown that sound therapy can help to reduce stress, ease anxiety, and improve sleep quality. There is also some evidence that the therapy can help to relieve pain and improve cognitive function. While sound therapy is generally considered safe, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider before beginning any new treatment. These sound bowls to get started with your own at home sound therapy are incredible.
