Bipolar disorder is one of those things that we hear about and know very little about and what we may or may not know quite often is false and misleading. Living with bipolar disorder is something we’ve possibly heard of, but never really from the inside unless you know someone personally. For most of us it’s all hearsay.
Steve Wilson Shares His Journey Of Living With Bipolar Disorder
I had a very eye opening conversation with Steve Wilson on the Blossom Your Awesome Podcast where he shares insights into his own more than 50 year battle with Bipolar Disorder.
Steve is 74 years old and was diagnosed at the age of 22. While he stresses it has definitely been very challenging he has learned to manage his condition and has found some sense of peace with it and empowerment through learning to manage it.
He says it is not easy, but can be done with a little dedication and willingness to get help and work through the ongoing challenges.
Steve is not only a mental health advocate he is also a facilitates a men’s group helping others with mental health challenges.
He says leading the group has been the greatest gift and blessing in life for him.
Steve is also the author of Teetering On A Tightrope: My Bipolar Journey
