I had the pleasure of talking to Dr. Rebecca DiVerniero, Ph.D. or Dr. D as she is known sharing her powerful insights on surviving social anxiety.
Dr. D has worked in worked in higher education for almost two decades, with a focus (and three college degrees) in interpersonal communication. She says interpersonal communication is how we speak and act toward others as well as ourselves.
While she’s loved working with university students she wanted to make this knowledge available to underserved communities. Having struggled with anxiety most of her life she knows all too well how difficult it can be to overcome.
She founded the site – survivingsocialanxiety.com where she writes and teaches and offers low cost lessons.
Her focus in bringing low cost teaching to the masses was in hopes of helping people with mental health disorders like social anxiety who just can’t afford conventional therapy or treatment.

Armed with a background in education and communication, she began developing low-cost lessons to help her clients improve the way they feel about themselves, as well as develop effective interpersonal skills.
She had so many wonderful insights as a social anxiety survivor herself.
